Indoor Positioning System Based on Bluetooth Low Energy Technology and a Nature-Inspired Optimization Algorithm

Warehousing is one of the most important activities in supply chain, enabling competitive advantage. Effective management warehousing processes is, therefore, crucial for achieving minimal costs, maximum efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction. Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) are first steps towards organizing these processes; however, due to human factor involved, information on products, vehicles workers may be missing, corrupt, or misleading. In this paper, a cost-effective Indoor Positioning System (IPS) based Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology presented use Intralogistics that works automatically, therefore minimizes possibility acquiring incorrect data. The proposed IPS solution intended used supervising order-picker movements, movement packages between workstations, tracking other mobile devices manually operated warehouse. Only data accurate, reliable represent actual state system, useful detailed material flow analysis optimization Intralogistics. Using developed solution, leveraged enhance warehouse operational efficiency Due hardware independence, software can with virtually any BLE supported beacons receivers. results testing laboratory/office settings show up 98% passings detected successfully time delays approach detection less than 0.5 s.
